  • Yes, with an experienced practitioner and the proper care and guidance a person with diabetes can get hijama done.

  • Yes you can get hijama done while on your period but it's important that you aren’t anemic and aren’t bleeding heavily during or after your hijama session.

  • Yes definitely, we have seen great results with these issues. And actually a bulk of our clients come with concerns regarding stress/anxiety/depression.

  • Yes, with effort from the client in healthy eating and exercising, hijama can aid in speeding/helping a person lose weight by allowing the organs to function and do their jobs properly as well as aid in proper digestion of food and absorption of nutrients.

  • Hijama is a Prophetic and Religious therapy. Hijama in (Arabic: حجامة)‎ means ” to suck” also known as wet cupping. where toxic blood is drawn by vacuum. Please note that it is done as a spiritual and religious practice only.

  • Hijama can be a bit uncomfortable but not painful if performed by an experienced and trained Hijama Therapist. It all depends on your tolerance level. Many clients find it relaxing or ticklish. Some have even taken a good nap during their session!

  • Hijama is a forgotten Sunnah, let’s revive this Sunnah! The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ recommended hijama at the change of seasons. Also Hijama is a great detox for the body mentally, physically, and spiritually. Hijama is a preventative therapy to prevent the build up of toxins so it doesn’t cause chronic long term problems in the long run.

  • Hijama should be performed by an experienced, trained, and certified therapist. Cleanliness and hygiene are very important to us. Everything we use is 1 time use only and our cups and blades come sealed and sterile for use. We provide clients with the cups we don’t allow anyone to bring their own cups.

  • It is recommended not to shower for 24 hours after hijama. It is better to take a shower or be in the state of Wudu before coming for hijama. Wear loose and comfortable clothing, preferably cotton. For men that have a hairy back, please shave or trim your back hair before coming for hijama. For males, if you are getting hijama performed on the head, please shave your head completely or get a zero trim. Don’t eat or drink anything 2-3 hours before your session.

  • According to the Sunnah, hijama is recommended every 3-4 months for those who are healthy as a form of detox and preventative therapy. But if you are coming to treat chronic issues it will require several sessions back to back. Hijama is a natural therapy and it's not magic. Anything that is holistic will take time and consistency to see results.

  • If you are pregnant, advanced in age or weak you should not get hijama performed. If you are anemic or for females are on their period and bleeding heavily. If you have major heart problems you should also avoid hijama.

  • Yes, hijama is performed by Sr. Salwa Zawam CHP for ladies. For men, hijama is performed by Br. Amr Khalil CHP.

  • Hijama usually takes anywhere between 40 – 60 minutes.

  • Yes, most people actually feel energetic, light and fresh after hijama.

  • No, hijama is risky while pregnant, because it can induce labor in some cases as well as miscarriages.

  • Yes, If you are at least 6 weeks postpartum you can get hijama done even if you are BFing. You have to make sure your drinking lots of water and eating very well to maintain your milk supply.

  • The best days to get Hijama done are the Sunnah days, which are the 17th, 19th, 21st of every islamic month. But because its very hard for people to get moonsighting correct even for the most important time such as Ramadan, it is very likely that monthly moonsighting might be off by a day or 2. And that is why we have sunnah week. covering all day options. BUT regardless of that Hijama can be done ANYTIME even if it is not sunnah days, because it is a sunnah in and of itself and insha'allah you will get the full blessing and shifa from it. Especially if you are in pain.

  • Yes we have a male that one does male clients, and a female practioner that only does female clients.

  • We dont recommend fasting the day of your Hijama especially if the day is long. You don't want to over exhaust yourself. You should eat a good healthy breakfast/meal 2-3 hours before your session and drink lots of water. Then stop all eating/drinking 2-3 hours before the session. Its sunnah and best to do hijama on an empty stomach.
